Hiking in Freeport while following the Governor’s mandate to Stay Healthy at Home

Trails in Freeport are open for you to enjoy for outdoor exercise, even while we are all doing our part to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
A few things to consider before you set out for a hike:
• Stay home if you are sick.
• Go with only one or two people.
• Try a different trail if you get to a trailhead and several cars are already parked there.
• Separate yourselves by 6 feet from people on the trail, including when you pass others.
• Stay on the trail. Do not go in the surrounding woods or fields, which maybe be privately owned.
• Mountain bikes are not allowed.
• Clean up after your dog.
• Check for ticks when you get home.
