FCT to acquire Cousins River marsh parcel: we need your support!

Freeport Conservation Trust (FCT) has raised over 95% of the funds necessary to preserve a parcel of land along the Cousins River called Marsh View. When acquired, this piece of land and marsh will join 180 acres FCT has already protected in this coastal habitat important for birds, fish, and humans alike.

We are reaching out to individuals, especially neighbors who live near Marsh View, to raise the final $6,000. Plans include a small parking lot and trails to two overlooks for watching birds, the sunset, and seasonal changes.

FCT is offering walks for the public to experience the trail: Saturday, June 27 at 4pm (rain date 6/28) or Tuesday, June 30 at 5pm. Meet at Becks Lane and Old County Road. If neither date works, contact the FCT office to arrange another time.
