The trailhead is located on Hedgehog Mountain Road off Pownal Road. A gravel parking area is located on the left just before the recycling center gate.

Hedgehog Mountain is a 196-acre property owned by the Town of Freeport. Over 5 miles of trails lead visitors up Hedgehog Mountain, through mature pine and hemlock forest, over and around old stonewalls.
